In the last few weeks we have looked into the scripture focused on the idea of ‘light’. The comparison of light to our lives spiritually is threaded throughout scripture. Our focus took us to the beginning of the Gospel of John were Jesus is described as the light..
“.. in him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John1:4-5)
This idea of light not being overcome by darkness gives us great hope. Many times we find ourselves in places of spiritual darkness. It is in living for Christ that we find our lives illuminated. Jesus is the source.
We are challenged to be those living in the light, holding nothing back.. “But whoever lives by the truth come in the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.”
Let’s live as light in the darkness. Be the light.
