The Bridge community began 2013 with a challenge: to focus in fasting & prayer for 21 days. The center of this time is to seek God for spiritual breakthrough, both in our personal lives, and in the community around us. This second piece, praying for the people in our city to know God, is the core of #PrayForParis.
This week as we continue in prayer & fasting, let’s focus on blessing as we #PrayForParis.
7 Days of Blessing
Here are 7 simple prayer ideas that you could use. Take time to bless the friendships and activities of the place or person that you are blessing – asking God to bring his Kingdom values to the awareness of those there.
Sometimes it will be appropriate to pray out loud – other times it will just be you and God talking to each other.
Monday – Bless your family members
I bless (a name) in the name of Jesus and for His Glory. Bless them with peace, health and a revelation of God through Jesus.
Tuesday – Bless your workplace or the schools that your children might attend
I bless (that place) in the name of Jesus and for His Glory. Bless the people with peace, health and a revelation of God through Jesus.
Wednesday – Bless the streets around where you live.
I bless (street name) in the name of Jesus and for His Glory. Bless this area with peace,
health and a revelation of God through Jesus.
Thursday – Bless and pray for someone in your neighbourhood.
It may be someone that you see regularly and perhaps even exchange greetings with.
Ask God for openings to talk further
Friday – Bless your enemies.
(Not easy – but biblical.) Jesus reminded us to ‘love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them’
Saturday – Bless a Christian friend.
Ask God to reveal his goodness to them in a fresh and new way.
Sunday – Bless the church.
As you think about travelling there today ask God to bless his people and increase their witness to his love and grace
