Core Values

The Bridge is dedicated to the mission given to the church by Jesus: to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).  In carrying out that mission, in leading people to become and grow as followers of Jesus Christ, we are guided by these four core values:

Discover: The Bridge helps people to discover a deeper relationship with God through a variety of learning, experiential, and service-oriented forums in a cross-cultural context (John 1:45-46). The Bible stands at the center of our discovery, being the well-spring and standard for truth in our lives.

Worshiping, learning from the Bible and serving others creates the potential for transformational discovery.

Experience: The Bridge creates opportunities for people to experience the power and presence of God by fostering venues for the Holy Spirit to make Jesus Christ manifest, and by becoming engaged in God’s work in the world (John 4:19-24).

Spiritual experience leads to knowing God in a way that changes us.

Relate: The Bridge is a relational community, committed to the idea that God intends for us to live in peaceful community with others, reconciled to one another by the cross of Jesus (2 Cor. 5:18-20; Eph. 2:14-16).  Our relationships, deepened by mutual understanding and genuine love, are evidence of God’s kingdom that spans cultural, linguistic, socio-economic, and denominational differences.

Our relationships, rooted in Christ, bridge all barriers and reflect the love of God to the world.

Grow: The Bridge is a growing community that believes that the Biblical pattern for God’s kingdom is growth of all kinds (Mark 4:30-32).  We advocate the active pursuit of growth– both personally and corporately.

Dynamic expansion grows the influence of Christ in the world.
